hado's folly

September, 2007

Mark got up early and surprised some deer out in the yard. They were in my little patch of garden where I have a bleeding heart and honeysuckle plant. They seem to like nibbling on the honeysuckle. They really like my bottlebrush plant. It grows for a while and then suddenly one weekend the plant will be just a stump. Next year I'm going to put a fence around it and see if it flourishes.

My tomato plants did well. I planted 3 heirloom tomato plants in a big patch of manure and got a ton of delicious tomatos.

They start to run away, still keeping an eye on Mark. I think the mama is stopping to pee. How rude.

tomato(s)

Brandywine and Green Zebra tomatos. Tomatoes? I'm having a Dan Quayle moment.

Green Zebras

Closeup of the Green Zebras. It was hard to tell when they were ripe.

Joe Pye Weed

The Joe Pye Weed patch. Part of my native plant obsession.

Joe Pye Weed closeup. They're supposed to attract bees and butterflys. Butterflies?

moth

Moth. With cool shadow. Creepy but Mark took a million pictures of it so I think I should put some up.

Creepy moth in nicely composed picture. Kudos, Mark!
